Ben’s Designer Addresses Prove Huge Hit In Leeds

Luxury apartments designed by international fashion designer Ben de Lisi have proved a massive hit with Leeds house hunters, with 80 per cent being sold within 48 hours.

More than 350 people attended the preview weekend to view the development of 15 one and two bedroom apartments being built at 564 The Place, Harrogate Road, Alwoodley.

The apartments are being built by Avenir Properties of Harrogate, and this is the company’s first collaboration with the New York-born fashion designer and star of Project Catwalk.

Ben, whose dresses are frequently worn by top celebrities on both sides of the Atlantic, has individually designed the entire which range in price from £250,000 up to £500,000 for a penthouse.

Avenir Properties’ director Andrew Carnell said: “To sell 80 per cent of the properties in 48 hours is just fantastic. We had sold over half of them in the first hour. The response to them has just been incredible.

“Ben has done a fantastic job designing the apartments, and being the perfectionist he is he was working right up to the last minute. Someone recently said there wasn’t a market for designer flats in Yorkshire – we have proved them wrong!”

Mr Carnell added this was the company’s first joint venture with Ben and he was confident it wouldn’t be the last.

The development at 564 The Place is due for completion in the summer.
