'Plush' Apartments To Be Built On Horsforth Garage Site 21/09/07
A mini estate, described as a plush housing development' is to be created on the site of a former garage in Horsforth.
Fourteen apartments with one, two or three bedrooms are to be built by Harrogate-based Avenir Properties on the land at Station Road. The company, which is also working on two other developments in Leeds, will use the services of international fashion designer Ben de Lisi. Avenir sales manager Amanda Brayshaw said: "There is growing evidence that people looking to buy homes in Leeds are turning their backs on the city centre. "Unlike suburban settings the city centre can't match what established communities have to offer in terms of plenty of facilities close to hand. "Station Road, Horsforth, is not only right in the heart of a well-established community, it's a very popular place to live. And for commuters it has the added attraction of being extremely close to the railway station." Work is beginning on the scheme this month, and Opel Construction of Harrogate has been appointed as the contract builder.
